Georgetown Air Services is seeking a self-motivated individual for an opening as a Line Service Technician (LST) at Delaware Coastal Airport in Georgetown, DE. This is a full-time seasonal position with the possibility of year-round employment. Applicants must possess excellent customer service skills, a strong sense of safety and a positive attitude. The main responsibilities of this line service position include fueling and parking jet and piston aircraft, loading and offloading baggage and providing assistance to crew and passengers. Experience with aviation ground handling services is very much desired but not required. We have a thorough training program to ensure that our employees meet and exceed the highest levels of safety and customer service. This position requires you to work in all weather conditions and flexibility with your schedule is a must as we operate 24 hours a day, including holidays and weekends.
Qualifications and Skills:
· High school diploma or GED certificate
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Must possess a valid driver’s license
· Prior general aviation experience, especially in Line Service, preferred
· Knowledge of aircraft fueling and ground handling techniques preferred
· Experience with operating large trucks and heavy duty equipment
· Two-way radio communications and techniques preferred
· Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
· Excellent listening and problem solving skills
· Ability to lift and move items of 70 pounds on a regular basis
· Ability to bend and/or squat repeatedly for aircraft operational hook up, chock aircraft and move tow bars
· Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
· Must be able to step up and down on ladders, tugs and fuel trucks
· Ability to multitask and act under pressure and be adaptable to change on a constant basis
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Fuel aircraft as requested
· Desk duties including answering phones, interacting with customers, etc.
· Greet, park and marshal aircraft arriving or departing ramp areas
· Assist passengers and/or crew with baggage/cargo as needed
· Maintain a high level of customer service
· Assist with general cleaning and clearing of debris from ramp building and customer areas
· Routine daily quality control inspections and procedures of fuel trucks and fuel farm
· Reloading of fuel vehicles
· Receiving of fuel farm inventory
· Routine equipment maintenance and upkeep
· Maintain daily record keeping as assigned
· Perform other duties as assigned
· Ability to work unsupervised and independently as well as part of a team
· Complete training programs and updates as they become available
· Must adhere to and follow procedures for proper handling of fuels and other flammable and hazardous materials
· Clean crew car as needed
