Schell Games is a highly talented group of artists, programmers, producers, and game designers led by game industry veteran Jesse Schell.  We're the largest full-service education and entertainment game development company in the United States.  Since 2002, we've worked with world-class clients and partners to create interactive experiences that engage and inspire players of all ages across all platforms.  Presently, we are focused on virtual reality, augmented reality, location-based experiences, and social games.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

We are seeking a Project Director to work closely with producers to guide the team to a successfully completed project. The Project Director is responsible for maintaining and communicating the shared vision for the project. The Project Director will report directly to studio management.  A Project Director will work closely with the project discipline directors (Production, Art, Design, and Engineering) to ensure alignment across all groups. The Project Director sets high-level goals and quality bars and evaluates the game's progress throughout development.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be located in the Pittsburgh area for the role and expected to be in the office Tuesday-Thursday, with 3 extra WFH days per month
• Minimum of 8 years of experience
• Have successfully shipped titles as a team lead
• Broad knowledge of game development, game design, and game aesthetics
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrate leadership to ensure alignment and inspire confidence in the project’s vision and execution
• Excellent at both giving and receiving feedback
• Clearly and effectively communicate complex ideas to a diverse audience
  
  

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: 

• Degree in Entertainment Technology, Computer Science, or other related technical or gaming field desired
