What are the responsibilities and job description for the General-Pipe Laborer Trainee position at Schellinger Construction?

Reserve Drive- W of Whitefish Stage
In accordance with the Training Program requirements on the Reserve Drive- W of Whitefish Stage contract, Schellinger Construction Company Inc. plans to provide a minimum of 500 hours of training in the following areas:
General Labor - 300 hrs. Pay 100% @ Laborer Group 2
Pipe Laborer - 200 hrs. β Pay 100% @ Laborer Group 3
GENERAL LABOR:
A: Orientation and Operation (not to exceed 5 hrs.)
1. Safety procedures shall include:
a) personal safety and protective equipment
b) fire prevention procedures
c) safety practices
d) proper use of hand signals as required
2. The trainee will be provided with a copy of the training program and will receive evaluations at least monthly.
3. Applied care and maintenance procedures of motorized hand equipment shall include but not be limited to the following:
a) spotting malfunctions and unusual occurrences
b) storage of fuel and lubricating items
c) Pre-shift inspections
d) reporting of malfunctions - verbal and timecard notations
B: Actual application or operation (not to exceed 295 hrs.)
1. Basic Operation Motorized Hand Equipment:
a) routine fueling and lubricating
b) starting and basic operations
c) routine maintenance
2. General Labor to include but not limited to:
a) asphalt racking
b) project clean-up
c) stake jumping
d) miscellaneous items as required
e) fabric/geomembrane installation
PIPE LABORER:
A: Orientation and Operation (not to exceed 10 hrs.)
Items 1, 2, and 3 will be the same as listed above
B: Actual application or operation (190 hrs.)
1: Pipe Installation to include but not limited to:
a) hazard identification
b) interaction with construction equipment
c) stake familiarization
d) installation steps and responsibilities
e) horizontal and vertical control
f) backfilling and compaction requirements
g) work area awareness
1) public traffic
2) project equipment
2: General Labor to include but not limited to:
a) erosion control
b) project clean-up
c) stake jumping
d) pavement repair and patching
e) aggregate placement
f) miscellaneous items as required
