Position Overview:
The Schenectady City School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Culinary Arts Teacher to inspire and equip students with the skills needed for success in the food service and hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction in culinary arts, food safety, and meal production.
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with industry standards and student learning goals.
Provide hands-on training in commercial food preparation, sanitation, customer service, and catering.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student success.
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to meet diverse learning needs.

Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Education, or a related field (preferred).
Valid Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification in Culinary Arts or Family and Consumer Sciences or the ability to obtain certification.
Industry experience in food service, restaurant management, or culinary arts.
Prior teaching experience, especially in an urban or diverse educational setting (preferred).
Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
