What are the responsibilities and job description for the MHE Operator I (Forklift Operators) position at Schenker & Co AG?
Responsible for pulling orders, prepping for outbound shipment, loading and unloading freight accurately, inspection and other warehouse related duties. Ensure all products are accurately pulled and over-packed correctly to customer expectations. Tasks & Responsibilities :
- Safely operate forklift and other material handling equipment (MHE) including sit down, reach truck, cherry picker, layer pick, etc.
- Load inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers
- Accurately pull orders based on location, part number, batch and quantity
- Placard, weigh, and record dimensions on appropriate paperwork
- Sort outbound freight based on carrier lane assignments
- Over-box pallets, wrap pallets and strap pallets in preparation for shipment
- Perform cleanup activities in the work area to ensure safety and cleanliness of dock
- Keeping shipping supplies organized and communication on supply needs
- Daily forklift inspection sheet completed prior to operation of forklift
- Complete other duties or tasks as assigned
