Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the mechanical team on-site, including subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems related to pump stations and tunneling and piping equipment.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a safety-first culture among the team.
- Review and approve mechanical designs, shop drawings, and submittals.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, resolving mechanical issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including reports on progress, changes, and challenges.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on equipment operation and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience in heavy civil construction.
- Minimum (8) years of experience in with construction, particularly in pump station, shaft work or tunneling projects.
- Experience with flanged piping/large diameter piping work
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation processes, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
