Position overview:
A Calibration Specialist verifies inspection gages issued to production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gage calibration process for keeping inspection equipment and updating equipment and calibration data using UniPoint.
- Maintain the condition of gages used in our operating system. May require cleaning gage.
- Maintain gage inventory stock.
- Issue, collect and replace all gages needed for production-by-production schedule or one-time requests.
- Issue and keep the latest up to date revision level of all production documentation.
- Maintain our quality system and develop new systems and techniques applicable to the company’s operations.
- Help prepare information to recommend engineering and production on specific problems which relate to their respective areas.
- Experience with measuring tools such as micrometers, caliper, pin gags and ring gages.
- Machine shop experience
Work Environment:
- Work environment varies from office/computer to light industrial. Hand and eye protection may be needed at times.
Necessary Education, Skills, and Competencies (including licensing and certifications):
- Associate’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively and with all areas of the organization.
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, manufacturing specification, and data interpretation.
- Meticulous with judgment.
- Adaptable to fast paced environment
- Knowledge of the ISO 13485 systems with experience supporting quality system requirements.
