Job Description
- Name of the Job: Production Planner
- Reports to: Operations Manager
- Summary:
As a production planner, you plan and monitor the entire logistical production process from the individual part to the finished product, always keeping on-time delivery in mind, while fulfilling revenue targets, You will be in close coordination with the purchasing, stockroom, production and quality departments. Through your autonomous and structured way of working, you will continuously optimize the control parameters and thus ensure an optimum of delivery reliability, lead time and inventory in our variant-rich prototype and small series business. You will be responsableresponsible for using and maintaningmaintaining Electro-Miniatures Corp. MRP system in E-2 and SAP as the primary tool of operation.
- Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, procurement, and quality control, to develop comprehensive production plans that align with customer demands and business objectives.
- Utilize the current MRP system to create, monitor, and adjust production schedules, ensuring that resources, materials, and capacities are optimized to meet production targets.
- Analyze historical production data and quality performance, i.e. yield) to develop accurate production plans.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials, preventing production delays.
- Monitor inventory levels and recommend adjustments to maintain efficient stock levels while minimizing excess inventory costs.
- Identify and address potential production bottlenecks or constraints, making real-time adjustments to production plans as needed.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to incorporate new product introductions or design changes into production plans.
- Maintain accurate production records, including work/shop orders, and production reports from production schedules.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding production status, performance against targets, and potential issues including a daily revenue plan and projectioins.
- Manage daily morning production meeting and gather production progress and resolve issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices to defense manufacturing and production planning.
- Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or other related field.
- APICS certification a plus
- 3-5 years experience in SAP/E-2 or manual MRP processes or related software for production planning.
- Slipring manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, trends, and performance metrics.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Problem solving mindset and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
