Position Overview: A Vehicle Purchaser is responsible for acquiring vehicles on behalf of a dealership. The role involves sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing vehicles while ensuring that they meet quality standards, budget constraints, and company specifications. A strong knowledge of the automotive market, excellent negotiation skills, and an ability to evaluate vehicle conditions are essential for this position. In this role, YOU ARE NOT CAPPED on your income! The work you put in determines your success!
Key Responsibilities:
- Mine our database to acquire vehicles for our Preowned Sales Department via our Service Department/prior customer base.
- Appraise vehicles with accuracy and honesty to help drive sales.
- Research and stay informed about market trends, vehicle pricing, and availability to make informed purchasing decisions
- Negotiate prices and terms of sale with sellers to ensure the company acquires quality vehicles at a profitable price.
- Inspect and evaluate vehicles for condition, mileage, age, and overall value to ensure they meet company standards.
- Work closely with Sales managers to ensure purchased vehicles are integrated into the company’s inventory and meet sales needs.
- Look for cost-effective alternatives without compromising on vehicle quality or business requirements.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in vehicle sales and negotiation in the automotive industry strongly desired but not required
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self motivated and focus driven
- Basic computer skills
