Position Summary:
The Workshop Team of the Paul A. Schmitt Violin Shop is currently seeking a full-time Luthier at our Omaha location. The successful candidate will help fulfill our mission: Enriching lives by helping people make music.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
You will join a large and growing team of caring, conscientious, and enthusiastic Technicians. We will provide ongoing training to gain familiarity with our instruments and proficiency in our methods and standards. The Luthier will help set-up, maintain, and repair our student level instruments; violins, violas, cellos, basses and fretted instruments. We work directly with manufacturers to supply instruments which are excellent in quality and sound. The Luthier will ensure that the set-up and maintenance is of the highest quality for the players in our area.

- Physical Demands: The responsibilities of this position may frequently require using hands to, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and talking hearing. This position may often involve standing, walking and sitting. This position may sometimes involve climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
Advancement opportunities over time may include set-ups, repairs and restoration of higher level instruments, or bow work if the candidate has an interest.

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications may include:
- Experience in a violin shop.
- Experience in woodworking.
- A passion for playing and a desire to learn about instrument construction and maintenance.
- Diploma in Violin Maintenance/Repair or Violin Making.
Salary : $15 - $18
