Title: IT Support Specialist
Location: Omaha
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day Information Technology needs for the engineering and support staff. This work involves assisting with both software and hardware challenges associated with our Windows-based corporate networks. Direct interaction, both in person and electronically, with the engineering and support staff is required. The ability to troubleshoot challenges and bring them to resolution is a must. The ability to self-organize and prioritize trouble tickets is a critical function of this role.
We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our growing team. This full-time position is based in our Omaha, Nebraska office, and the working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility on hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide general support for the company’s IT systems, including monitoring and maintaining computer networks, hardware, and software.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of systems, ensuring they meet company needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common technical issues, including system errors, network problems, and hardware malfunctions.
- Support end users with day-to-day technology needs, such as email and phone setup, software use, and peripheral challenges.
- Onboarding and offboarding of employees in Exchange, Active Directory, and Office 365.
- Administration of virtualized servers and desktops using VMWare’s latest technologies.
- Evaluate and test new technology solutions to improve efficiency and compatibility within the company.
What we are looking for:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an IT support role or similar technical support position.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and common office applications.
- Experience with the administration of users in Exchange, Active Directory, and VMware products.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware issues, network connectivity, and printer/peripheral setup.
- Experience with managing user permissions, folder access, and basic network administration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve both hardware and software issues.
- Good communication skills to assist non-technical users effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.) are a plus.
