Overview
The Manager of Commissioning Projects is a manager responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of commissioning projects.
The Manager of Commissioning Projects plays a crucial role in maintaining the processes of managing commissioning projects for clients. The Manager of Commissioning Projects works closely with the CEO, VPs of MEP Disciplines and Project managers in areas and processes required for project delivery.
This position includes a combination of operational and support processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead commissioning projects in a new commissioning department within the company.
- Collaborate with our MEP and R&D departments to implement an innovative commissioning software platform, integrating it with our MEP engineering tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our processes are aligned with client needs.
- Provide expert insight into the refinement of commissioning processes, driving efficiency, and accuracy.
- Review contracts, negotiate terms and conditions, and ensure profitability for the firm.
- Track project progress, monitor costs, and identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact project timelines and budgets.
- Develop relationships with clients, understand their needs, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Implement and enforce quality control and safety protocols on all projects.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and other relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including developing proposals and presentations for potential clients
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including financial, schedule, and safety risks.
What We Are Looking For:
- 1-2, or 3 years of work experience with commissioning projects, preferably within the MEP engineering sector.
- Mechanical Engineering degree or other with construction commissioning specialty or training
- Preferably, but not required, to be certified by one of the major national commissioning organizations.
- Passion for innovation and motivation to build something new from the ground up
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate suggested solutions in understandable terms.
- Organizational skills with a specific focus on the organization of documentation associated with the commissioning process.
