Head of Accounting

Company Overview:

Schneider Electric Federal Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Schneider Electric Holdings Inc., a leading electrical distribution company specializing in serving the federal sector. This company operates under a Special Security Agreement with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency in order to prevent FOCI (foreign ownership control & influence).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Accounting and Internal Control. This role will focus on ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with federal regulations, and effective management of government contracts. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate accounting, with a strong background in government contracting/subcontracting, internal and external audit, and business compliance. Initially, this role will be an individual contributor with the opportunity to build a team over the next two years. The role will report directly to the Director of Finance for Schneider Electric Federal Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial statements, reports, and records in compliance with GAAP and federal regulations.
• Ensure compliance with all government contracting requirements, including cost accounting standards (CAS) and federal acquisition regulations (FAR).
• Coordinate and lead external and internal audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Monitor and manage the statement of cash flows and its respective levers.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall company objectives and ensure financial integrity.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and federal compliance requirements and implement necessary changes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of government contracting, including CAS, FAR, and DCAA audit requirements.
• Experience with financial audits, both internal and external.
• Proficiency in SAP S4 Hana
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
