Position: Application Engineer Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid Onsite Role); might consider remote candidates
We are seeking a talented Application Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in project engineering for power monitoring and control systems in electrical distribution applications. If you're passionate about designing and deploying cutting-edge solutions, we'd love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Project engineering of power monitoring and control systems
- Reviewing project specifications and one-line diagrams
- Consulting with contractors and customers to determine system operation requirements
- Assist in the design and specification of electrical control panels
- Creating system network drawings/schematics in AutoCAD
- Specification and procurement of hardware and software
- Bench-testing and troubleshooting of hardware and software solutions
- Performing start-up services and training for commissioned systems
- Application development as per project requirements, including PLC/HMI programming
- Domestic travel up to 15% to customer sites
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in design or deployment of monitoring and control systems for LV/MV electrical power distribution
- Professional experience with EcoStruxure power solutions and platforms (i.e. Power Monitoring Expert, EcoStruxure Power Operations)
- Integration of devices from multiple vendors into packaged solutions
- Designing system communication architectures leveraging serial and ethernet networking
- Knowledge of industry standards and protocols such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, BACnet and ULP
- Experience with hardware and software procurement, bench-testing, and troubleshooting
- Experience with NEMA, UL, IEC or other electrical standards
- Ability to configure hardware and software for equipment or system validation
- Strong communication and stakeholder consultation skills
- Experience in delivering training for complex technical topics
