What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Automation Commissioning Technician position at Schneider Electric?
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions, utilizing extensive knowledge of electronic and digital control systems.
- Implement databases, control sequences, programs, and graphics for both new construction and retrofit projects.
- Provide start-up and checkout documentation to the installation team for commissioning and validation.
- Organize and demonstrate required BAS project sequences to meet commissioning agents' requirements.
- Commission control installations and verify that sequences align with specifications.
- Create sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and as-built drawings.
- Analyze plans, specifications, and contract details to determine system requirements.
- Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects and track resources and progress.
- Troubleshoot issues, including debugging software and diagnosing electrical or pneumatic installation problems.
- Organize and maintain job documentation effectively.
- Provide on-site assistance with programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning, and validation processes.
- Demonstrated experience in the installation and/or maintenance of Building Automation Systems (HVAC) or technical experience in construction, elevator, electrical/mechanical, lighting, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
- Proficient in electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with Schneider Electric EcoStruxure BAS is a plus.
- Highly organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, taking ownership of all tasks.
- Ability to work in diverse environments around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, above ceilings, and in varying weather conditions; and using hand tools, laptops, email, smartphones, and tablets.
- Capability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
