Export Control Analyst, Americas Region

 This position supports Schneider Electric’s global export control program within the Americas Region and globally within the SE global landscape.  The role includes providing global support to SE entities located outside of the United States as well as stakeholders within the region by leveraging company’s Global Export Control (EC) Center of Excellence (CoE) policies and procedures.  This position will use industry and SE data to assess in house risk and deploy mitigation measures to minimize overall export control and sanctions risk exposure.  The position works across all of Schneider Electric’s businesses in the region and globally.  This position interfaces regularly with Regional Management and reports to the Export Control and Sanctions Americas Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist the company’s global export control program as a member of the Global Export Control Center of Excellence (CoE)
  • Assist in the deployment and oversight of export control and sanctions policies and procedures including operational activities and projects related to automating trade compliance processes.
  • Conduct and support reviews and audits at Schneider Electric sites, generate reports and support improvement activities.
  • Establish and monitor KPI’s within the regional COE, review relevant trend data within SE Region of responsibility to actively monitor and report on notable trends impacting export control and sanctions risk.
  • Perform export control awareness training of personnel on a frequent basis on various trade topics.
  • Monitor Americas export control and sanctions regulations for updates, interpret them for impacts to Schneider Electric business operations and provide support to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Attend export control and sanctions seminars/conferences to maintain knowledge on regulatory updates and changes.
  • Provide advice, support, and/or back-up in any ad-hoc export control and sanction projects (e.g., Merger & Acquisition and Divestment, Classification, etc.), activities both Corporate & Cross-Region/Country as assigned.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required
  • Competent export control experience required, preferable in a multinational company
  • Must have at least 2-5 years of US export control and sanctions regulations experience. Classification and export licensing a plus.
  • Experience with automated trade compliance - high volume screening solutions/tools
  • Experience in technology, software, or digital industries a plus
  • 15% travel domestically and internationally when required.
  • Demonstrated ability being a team player and influencing others.
  • Proficiency with MS office applications
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Pragmatic problem-solving abilities
  • Keen diplomatic instincts and customer service mentality (internal and external customer)
  • Ability to work independently, employ good judgment, act with integrity, take ownership, and seek advice when necessary.
