International Trade Compliance - Senior Manager II (M5)

Schneider Electric is recruiting for a International Trade Compliance Senior Manager in Raleigh, NC; Nashville, TN; Boston, MA.

This position will own and drive the Transformation strategy to our target Export Control Center of Excellence (COE) operating model. This includes development of process standards, data and reporting metrics. The strategy will enable automation and mechanizing controls to reduce company risk exposure. This position will report directly to the VP Global Export Control (COE). As Export Control is a global function, the position has a global focus in reach and impact, dealing with stakeholders in all geographies and at all levels.

What will you do?

  • Develop strategy to optimize the Export Control program requirements across process, tools and resources.
  • In collaboration with EC COE subject matter experts, develop standard processes with a focus on increasing automation.
  • Define and implement processes, automation and metrics in alignment with the target operating model, allowing resources to transition from 1st line of Defense activities toward the 2nd Line of Defense role as part of the Risk Overseer model.
  • Execute strategy across a set of aligned Transformation projects, leveraging internal and external resources.
  • Manage and develop of a team focused on delivering solutions to mechanize Export Control and Sanctions controls and reduce company exposure.
  • Use defined Change Management and Communication approach to facilitate the success of the Transformation.
  • Partner and collaborate with SE Data and Performance to build a data office to deliver 2nd line of defense monitoring, dashboards to collect and report on trusted Export Control data using dashboards.
  • Work closely with EC CoE members, and other departments such as IT, Sales, Compliance, Learning Teams, etc., to understand requirements and achieve objectives.
  • Identify resources needed for the delivering the strategy, manage risks, build contingencies and mitigation plans.
  • Report status to key stakeholders on regular basis.
  • Propose solutions for challenge areas, discuss with key stakeholders and come up with course correction actions.
  • Coordinate across regions and departments to ensure actions are completed according to timelines.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree helpful
  • Lean Six Sigma or other similar expertise preferred
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful of documenting and executing of standardizing process across different stakeholders, domains and geographies
  • Successful track record of digitizing and automating processes and eliminating waste
  • Export control experience preferred
  • 10 years of experience in project management, or similar management role, preferably at a multi-national company
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with data analysis and interpretation of KPIs
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
  • 25% travel domestically and internationally when required
  • Knowledge of the Schneider business and functions is a strong plus
