Manager – Field Service Engineering, Residential Solar and Storage

We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on leader to lead our service engineering and field analytics team. The role involves leading a diverse team of engineers responsible for developing field analytic tools, monitoring fleet data, troubleshooting site issues, conducting system testing, and managing field service escalations. Candidates for this role should possess expertise in residential solar and battery storage installations, along with a strong proficiency in hardware, software, and data analysis. We are seeking a leader with strong critical thinking skills to swiftly address field issues.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of dynamic field analytics and service engineers responsible for Schneider’s residential solar and storage portfolio.
• Oversees development of fleet management tools, field data analytics, and service escalations / triage.
• Oversee end-end testing from HW to SW (Cloud, App) both for diagnosis as well as validation of solutions.
• Respond within strict SLAs to field issues, assign and dispatch service engineers to diagnose field issues, monitor progress, and maintain dashboards for field performance KPIs.
• Coordinate with engineering and cloud teams for quick resolution to field issues and ensure prompt triaging and closing of JIRA service tickets.
• Encourage quick thinking, innovation, and motivate the team to discover unconventional solutions and diagnoses.
• Encourage use of advanced analytic tools and instrumentation to effectively diagnose faults.
• Coordinate the release of field firmware, arrange field hardware replacements, and promptly dispatch faulty hardware to engineering teams/vendors for root cause analysis and follow-up.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with 5 years in the residential solar and storage space
• Field experience with residential solar and storage products is essential; having experience across various US regions like California, Texas, Puerto Rico, and the Northeast is highly advantageous.
• Previous experience in leading field service engineering or field analytics teams is a must.
• Strong proficiency in software and data analytics tools.
• Extensive knowledge of residential solar and storage installations, including panel wiring configurations, design, operation, and maintenance.
• Strong familiarity with solar inverters, battery storage systems, and MID/backup control devices.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Atleast 30% travel required.

The U.S. Compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is $110,000 - $170,000 for candidates located within the U.S. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level.  Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
