Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Component Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in leading capacity and obsolescence projects for metal finishing equipment. This position is not just about technical expertise; it's about collaboration, innovation, and sustainability. You will support suppliers, contribute to sustainability initiatives, and engage with end customers to enhance their experience.

 

This position requires up to 50% of travel expectations within North America.

This role is locatedin Franklin, TN.  

 

What will you do?

  • Oversee the electroplating process, ensuring that metal parts meet stringent quality standards.
  • Deploy electroplating equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Conduct studies on plating solutions, chemicals, and materials to guarantee optimal coating quality.
  • Perform regular tests and assessments to maintain high-quality coatings.
  • Maintain accurate records of all plating processes, including solution compositions and usage.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to optimize process efficiency and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Provide expert guidance on chemical processes and safety best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and submit necessary reports.
  • Direct production operations to optimize workflow and minimize waste.

Who will you report to? Parts Advanced Manufacturing Manager.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in enginering, chemistry or a related field is required, Master's degree is a plus. 
  • Proven experience in metal plating processes.
  • Proficiency in chemical analysis techniques, including spectrometry and chromatography (a plus).
  • In-depth knowledge of chemistry as it applies to plating processes.
  • Project management experience is recommended.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to relocate and travel internationally as needed.
  • Proficiency in safety engineering with exposure to electrical safety.
