What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Procurement Manager position at Schneider Electric?
Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Plant Procurement Manager managing our Columbia, SC location. The Plant Procurement Manager (PPM) role manages the relationships between the purchasing organization and the plant manufacturing operations. This is a critical role that ensures our plants are meeting their purchasing objectives.
What will you do?
Productivity
- Accountable, with the Procurement Sourcing Leads (PSL), for the material productivity of the plant.
- Monitoring negotiation actions and their results.
- Provide coaching and support to the local PSL for the management of technical and supplier change actions (identification and progress) with escalation process within the purchasing function and/or the plant.
- Identification, with the PSL, of new actions to reach the targets in term of productivity by lever
- In charge of accuracy of forecasted savings by challenging PSL to ensure maintenance is being performed and to make it match the P&L reality.
- Accountable, with the monthly reconciliation committee (PPM, financial controller and PSL, for consistency of productivity in forecast and in actuals.
Supplier Management
- Supports Plant Quality & Managers on supplier performance for critical cases, in internal escalation process after SQME & SSCME’s implications
- Participates to the monthly Supplier Performance Meeting with the Plant.
- Informs the plant of short and middle term Quality & Logistic risks coming from supplier market.
Supplier Market
- Makes sure that the Supplier Orientation Charts exist and are shared with the Plant.
- Informs the Plant about supplier market significant changes and warns the Plant if risks are identified.
What qualifications will make you successful?
- You have a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or other relevant field is required.
- 5 years of delivering great results in procurement.
- CPM or CPIM in procurement preffered.
- You have demonstrated leadership skills and have a desire to achieve more in your career
- You know how to influence and convince cross-functionally to achieve organizational goals
- You have a strong knowledge of negotiation processes, project leadership, and manufacturing processes
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and know how to manage conflicting priorities.
