What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Building Automation Engineer position at Schneider Electric?
Schneider Electric is looking for Security Automation Engineer for their Chicago Area Team (Westmont, IL). This person should have experience in Security programming for Digital Buildings.
What will you do?
- Access Control: field controller initialization, reader configuration, access permissions, schedules, software configuration, and programming and graphical floorplan creation.
- Digital Video: IP cameras; configure recording parameters; create maps.
- IT Systems: support and maintenance (software/firmware upgrades, backups) for automation systems and related infrastructure (servers, computers, network switches)
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve IT related hardware and software issues.
- Assist sales on technical architecture, applications, hardware, and components.
- Work closely with clients to identify opportunities for improvements and upgrades of systems.
What qualifications will make you successful?
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or another technical field – or work equivalent related work experience.
- Understanding of access control technology and methodologies, computer and network hardware and software support practices
- Security access controls and Digital Video platforms (Genetec, ICT, Feenics, Milestone, Axis)
- Familiar with TCP/IP networks and network troubleshooting methodology.
