Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Principal Architect, Big Data in Boston, MA.

Job Description: Design the overall architecture of Big Data systems to ensure they can handle large volumes of data efficiently, considering the scalability, reliability, and security of the system. Select and implement the appropriate tools and technologies needed to build the big data system, including appropriate data storage, processing, and analysis tools, as well as the hardware and networking infrastructure required to support the system. Design and implement the data storage and processing infrastructure required to manage large volumes of data, including designing data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage solutions. Ensure that the big data system is secure, and that sensitive data is protected by implementing appropriate security measures, including encryption and access controls, to ensure that data is protected from unauthorized access. Stay current with emerging big data technologies and trends and incorporate them into the big data system. Enable insights from multiple data sources without copying them. Position is eligible for fully remote work, reporting to company headquarters in Boston, MA.

Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in the IoT/data domain as a Big Data/IoT Solutions Architect, Data and Application Architect, or related occupation. Experience must include at least some experience with the following skills: IoT architecture development; Communicating complex architectural topics to wider groups; Data architecture, including modeling, governance, metadata management, and data management; Architecting with different data types (master data, reference data, operational data store, data hub, data warehouse, and data lake); Maintaining and optimizing data architecture (Azure data factory, Kafka, Influx, Azure data lake); Ensuring data security and compliance; Evaluating and selecting data technologies; Architecting data for business ecosystems (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, APIs, Open data, Microservices, DevSecOps, Event-Driven IT); and Predictive analytics and AI/ML.
