What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Regulatory Engineer position at Schneider Electric?
Schneider Electric is searching for Senior Regulatory Engineer to make an impact within our organization to coordinate with the Agencies & the Internal R&D Team for the Product Safety.
This Senior Regulatory Engineer will sit within our Secure Power Transactional & Edge organization based out of our Andover, MA office.
Overview
Provide regulatory engineering review, planning, testing and report administration for new product development efforts. Ultimately responsible for the execution of regulatory approval activities for the group. Work requires expert knowledge of safety and EMC regulatory standards, engineering skill, and independent judgment.
What will you do?
- Perform all needed regulatory tests (within capability of internal lab) and appropriately document results.
- Gain regulatory certifications on new and newly revised products for Racks & Power Distribution units, including UL, CSA, FCC, VCCI, CE, PSE, KTC, IRAM, UKCA, RCM, UKCA,
- Coordinate the testing of new products in outside certified laboratories.
- Influence standard bodies by being an either standard committee member or coordinating with other Schneider standardization officers.
- Reviews PQRs Safety
- Authorized for submission of reports for VDE, UL, CSA based on respective WTDP/TDAP/CTDP/DCIQ program.
- Analyze, identify root cause for Regulatory issues.
- Drive Regulatory team activities, work and resource prioritization , accountability for the teams, set work goals for the functional teams. Estimate and manage the work effort for the team in interaction and coordination with the other stakeholders.
- Support and deploy Management initiatives including Quality Management System
- May lead a team of 3-5 Regulatory Engineers
To whom will you report?
Test & Technician, Technical Manager • Technical
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering/Master's in Tech
- 15 years’ experience in regulatory engineering function.
- 5 years’ experience directing the work of technical support personnel.
- Experience with regulatory requirements for solar based inverters preferred.
- Expert command of requirements in Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive and IEC/UL 62368-1, UL 50E, UL2416, IEC 60295, NEMA (Type ratings) and others relevant component standards
- PC software proficiency (Excel, Word)
