What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Supervisor position at Schneider Electric?
Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for a Shipping Supervisor in Lexington, KY. The Shipping Supervisor will oversee receiving, shipping, and warehouse activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards, while also managing and developing the warehouse team. This role involves optimizing workload, addressing customer inquiries, leading meetings, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
What will yo do in this position?
- Manage hourly operators in Shipping.
- Oversee employee performance, development, engagement, and discipline.
- Ensure compliance with Health/Safety/Environment and 5S rules.
- Enforce compliance with quality system and proper application of defined processes and procedures.
- Communicate with customers to address shipment inquiries and perform root cause analysis.
- Optimize daily/weekly workload/resource balance.
- Manage shipment processes performance and inventory management.
- Lead morning kick-off meetings and create action plans to remove barriers.
- Organize training needs and manage versatility within the team.
- Guarantee service level, quality, environment, process lead time, and productivity goals are met.
- Manage yearly appraisals of all DVC within the department.
What qualifications will make you successfully?
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, logistics or similar discipline preferred but no required.
- At least 5 years’ experience in distribution or manufacturing required.
- Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (SAP highly preferred), and data entry software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, oral).
