Software Engineering Intern

Schneider Electric has a new opportunity for a Summer 2025 Software Engineer Intern in Andover, MA. We are looking for an intern to contribute to the enhancement NetBotz 750/755 product (an IoT device for monitoring data centers) This device helps our customers manager and secure their data centers and is part of our EcoStruxure family of products.  You will join a team that maintains and develops a tech stack that includes Embedded Linux, C daemons, Java, JavaScript and PostgreSQL.  You will be primarily focused on expanding existing functionality, tackling customer issues, addressing security vulnerabilities, and reducing technical debt.  If you enjoy working on small teams to help achieve larger goals to help our customers, then please consider this role.

 What will you do?

• Collect and analyze data within Microsoft Excel.
• Create modifications to existing code under the direction of more senior engineers,
• Learn and enhance the NetBotz environmental management system.
• Test NetBotz systems and software
• Write automated tests and perform manual testing under the direction of more senior engineers.
• Fix software defects.

What qualifications will make you successful? 

• Rising Junior (graduating 2027) pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering or related field preffered.
• Previous experience with Java, JavaScript, or C programming languages
• Demonstrated understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, TCP/IP networking, etc.)
• The desire to learn software engineering and computer networking
• Experience with Linux
• Microsoft Excel experience
• Experience with Git (preferred)
