Position Summary:

On-going role to provide recurring support to the Schneider Electric Energy Manager with technical, hands-on, and administrative assistance to ensure performance relative to the Key Operating Saving Strategies (KOSS) associated with equipment and systems. Focus on assisting in discovery of root cause of failures in the field, as well as supporting with maintenance, repair and or replacement of equipment and systems installed by Schneider Electric.

Responsibility: Mechanical background (HVAC) and Building Automation System skills and competences to collaborate with a combination of onsite Schneider Electric Energy Manager and other supporting personnel.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the day – to – day field personnel for Schneider Electric Energy Manager contact for issues related to equipment and systems. When notified of an issue by the onsite Schneider Electric Energy Manager of issues must have the ability to discover the cause and determine how to get the issue resolved.
  • Complete understanding of the basic operation of customer facilities
  • Periodically assist in evaluating performance of systems for improvement opportunities
  • Ability to perform basic HVAC maintenance and repair as necessary (utilizing hand tools, multimeter, etc.)
  • Lead, manage, complete and delegate tasks
  • Manage flow of information between Schneider Electric and TAMIU personnel, and ensure effective communication of client goals, objectives, and schedules.
  • Assist Energy Manager with commissioning of control systems to ensure proper operation
  • Troubleshoot and verify correct operation of equipment and field devices
  • Ability to learn and adapt with install, replace and re-commission of controls devices and equipment (Siemens)
  • Assist with annual training
  • Facilitate maintenance, repair and replacement activities associated with project’s HVAC, Electrical, and Building Automation System as directed.

 

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience in energy service industry with direct customer - interface experience either in sales or client relationship, or equivalent experience (Mechanical/HVAC & Building Automation Systems)
  • Existing knowledge of the energy industry and a proven track record of generating or leading energy related opportunities for an end user
  • Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Office Products particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service internally and externally
  • Effective working in team environment

Site Specific Information and Responsibilities:

  • Texas A&M International University
    • 5201 University Blvd, Laredo TX 78041
  • Providing direct assistance to the SE Energy Manager to ensure all contractual needs and obligations of the Contract are fulfilled
  • Reviewing and troubleshooting Mechanical/Control issues
  • Coordinating with client to initiate issue resolution
  • Coordinate and schedule periodic planned services/maintenances/service interruptions with TAMIU personnel
  • Requirement to be on site Monday – Friday every week with exceptions during Holidays and Vacation
  • 45-50 hour work week to be expected with periodic phone support needed
