What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Coordinator position at Schnitzer Properties?
The Development Coordinator works with the SVP and Development Managers on pre-development, opening, and closing of development projects. This includes writing and maintaining contracts, change orders, assisting with the execution of jurisdictional development agreements and legal agreements. Maintains a shared file system for all projects. Maintains electronic construction drawings and permits. Works with the Development Accountant on billing and implementation of new projects. Obtains construction bonds. Performs all administrative tasks for Development Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS:
- Provides administrative support and coordinator for the Development Department.
- Writes up project contracts and change orders.
- Prepares Master Spending Commitment worksheets.
- Tracks vendor insurance requirements.
- Works with the Development Accountant on current and new projects.
- Coordinates execution of development applications and entitlement documentation for new projects.
- Works with Development Managers on development agreements with City or County jurisdictions throughout construction project.
- Works with the insurance agency to obtain construction bonds, when required. Tracks release of bonds once project is completed.
- Maintains construction drawings and project filing.
- Scans all preliminary lien notices received on company-wide construction projects, forwarding electronic copy to property managers.
- Drafts and finalizes contracts using AIA software.
- Supports the Finance Department with loan document requirements.
- Attends weekly Development meeting.
- Opens and distributes mail for the Development Department.
- Administrative support for department managers, including preparation of expense reports, and booking travel arrangements.
- Back-up relief for home office Receptionist.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience, training, skills required:
- 5 years of administrative experience in the construction, architectural, or engineering industry.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat.
- AIA software experience preferred.
- Yardi reports experience preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED:
- Notary or willingness to become one.
