What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehab Assistant position at Schofield Residence Inc?
- Transport registrants to and from the Therapy Treatment Room.
- Assist registrants to prepare for treatment.
- Assist in ADL training.
- Assist registrants with exercises, i.e. passive, active assistance, active and resistive.
- Perform and assist in treatment as per instruction of Physical Therapist Assistant,
- Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or COTA.
- Maintain records under the supervision of Physical Therapist Assistant, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or COTA.
- Advise Therapist of registrant progress and potential problems.
- Assist in development of and participate in inservice education.
- Maintain equipment and whirlpool in a clean and sanitary condition, following proper infection control procedures at all times.
- Assist as needed with daily billing sheets, file rehab documentation, prepare and file all mailings. Must comprehend and read technical written instructions.
- Assist with CNA new hires and feeding program.
- Complete quarterly time studies for Medicare audits.
- Perform other related duties as required by their manager.
- 1-2 years' experience in OT/PT.
- Must have current CNA certification.
- Must be eligible for or have successfully completed the New York State Department of Health mandated clinical and written/oral exams for Nurse's Aide certification and be a high school graduate.
- A working relationship with the elderly is preferred. Previous rehabilitation experience is helpful.
- Must possess good moral character, patience and compassion for the elderly.
