Company Overview
Schonbek, a premium lighting brand and a member of WAC Lighting is looking for a Custodian in Plattsburgh, NY. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facilities and surrounding grounds, as well as setting up and tearing down for special functions.
Responsibilities
1. Provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment, and systems of work for self and all employees, and to participate in training as needed for this purpose.
2. Sweep, mop, and wax floors, stairwells, and elevators on a routine schedule.
3. Vacuum and clean rugs and carpets.
4. Dust and clean furniture, windows, ledges, light fixtures, etc.
5. Collect and remove trash and recyclables including bulk recyclables from manufacturing areas.
6. Maintain and clean all manufacturing and office restrooms and common areas. Replenishes bathroom supplies, hygiene products, cafeteria supplies, etc.
7. Maintain inventory supply levels.
8. Shovels snow and deposits ice melt at entrance/exit areas.
9. Perform minor maintenance functions as assigned.
10. Set up and tear down for special business functions.
11. Ensures an organized, clean, and safe workspace by understanding and applying the use of the 6S guidelines.
12. May be assigned to other areas within the organization as the need arises.
Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalency Preferred
Prior Manufacturing Environment a Plus
Must have Reliable Transportation
Must have a Reliable Attendance Record
Ability to Work, Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm
The expected hourly rate is $18 - $20 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based upon experience and other factors allowed by law.
