The Role
We are excited to offer an opportunity for talented students to join the internship program at Schonfeld. You'll spend ten weeks within the P&L valuations where you will be immersed in the culture and atmosphere of Schonfeld, working alongside talented professionals on high profile projects.
This team falls under our Accounting department and collaborates closely with groups across the firm including Business Analytics, Fund Accounting, Operations, Front Office and Technology teams. With focus on daily and monthly P&L reporting, P&L reconciliations & valuations for OTC Derivatives.
You may help with the following projects :
- Optimize and develop tools using VBA / Python to streamline workflows of P&L reporting and reconciliation
- Document detailed workflow to identify areas of improvement
- Specific projects assigned by P&L valuations team
What you'll do
The intern will shadow various members from P&L Valuations team to understand current workflows and responsibilities of the team which include but are not limited to, daily and monthly performance reporting, daily P&L reconciliation between internal systems and our fund administrator. The main focus will be on identifying areas of improvement and automating current processes and tools using Excel / Python and VBA and increasing efficiency of the team. It will allow the candidate to focus on granular workflows & contribute to streamlining & improving them.

The annual base pay for this role is expected to be between $45,000 and $52,000 which will be prorated based on internship start and end date. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications and experience and level of education.
