Unity Elementary is seeking an energetic registered nurse for the 2025-2026 school year. Strong professional skills and a team player attitude is a must. Unity Elementary School is home to about 100 students in grades PK-8 in Unity NH.
Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, management of student health plans and any related staff training, parent communication regarding student health/injuries, first aid and screening for illnesses and injuries, management and administration of student medication, documentation of student visits, vision and hearing screenings, medical record file reviews for special education and 504 referrals as needed, and creating a balance between a safe and welcoming environment and ushering students back to class as they are able. The school nurse works as part of the student support team including school counselors, administration, and special education and may be asked to participate in student meetings, consult regarding health issues and concerns, collaborate with other nurses in the district, and other health and safety related responsibilities.
Reports to: Building Principal
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development
- Knowledge of testing instruments and their application to the academic setting
- Ability to collaborate with professionals, parents, and community
- Awareness of applicable state Administrative Rules and Regulations
