What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Coordinator position at School Administrative Unit 6?
SUMMARY OF POSITION
As the Payroll Coordinator for SAU #6, you will work closely and collaborate within the Finance Office which includes the following departments: Accounting, Transportation, and Facilities and a very close working relationship with Human Resources. You will work cooperatively with staff, department heads, and Board Members of the school districts and SAU office. You will uphold strict internal controls, Board policies, and best practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple districts, maintain accurate payroll records, process payroll deductions, process changes affecting net wages including overtime, garnishments, retirement, insurance co-payment, etc.Support Human Resources in onboarding and setting up all employees for start of new school year
Managing daily incoming mail to the Business office, routing invoices, timesheets, and cash receipts appropriately.
Prepare, code, and post all deposits and ACH receipts. Work with the accounting and grants manager during annual financial audits, single audits, and State/Federal monitoring audits. Monitoring aging purchase orders, and approving purchase order revisions.
Becoming an expert user and providing in-house training as requested on accounting software (Infinite Visions/School ERP Pro).
