Position Summary:
The Elementary PE Teacher will develop and implement a physical education program that promotes physical fitness, healthy habits, cooperation, and sportsmanship for students in grades K–5. The teacher will create engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that foster motor skills, physical literacy, and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver daily physical education instruction aligned with state and national standards.
Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
Teach fundamental motor skills, movement patterns, fitness concepts, and responsible personal and social behavior.
Assess and report student progress in physical education.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate health and wellness concepts.
Manage equipment and maintain the gymnasium and other physical activity areas.
Implement strategies that encourage participation and respect for individual differences.
Participate in school-wide events, parent-teacher conferences, professional development, and faculty meetings.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.
