Josiah Bartlett Elementary School Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Paraprofessional (60%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years postsecondary study or Associate's Degree
- NH Paraeducator Credential and/or Bachelor's Degree preferred
REPORTS TO: Principal
PURPOSE: To enhance student achievement by supporting academic, social, and emotional growth of children, and by supporting overall operations of the school organizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide for the overall safety and wellbeing of students as a caring adult who supports a positive school environment.
- Support the success of individuals and students groups in the learning of academic, social, and emotional knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with special educators and classroom teachers to provide instructional supports and accommodations in academic and other school settings.
- Assist with recordkeeping, data collection, and specific tasks related to IEP's, 504's, behavior plans, as well as with tasks related to general school operations.
- Provide supervision of students during lunch, recess, teacher meetings, team planning, and other times as needed.
- Maintain professionalism, ethical behavior, and confidentiality regarding sensitive student and school information.
- Follow state regulations, district policies, and school procedures and expectations.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the principal or designated supervisor.
