ANTICIPATED OPENING ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - Keene Food Services
Keene Food Service believes that by offering nutritious and exciting meals for students allows our students to reach their greatest potential. That is why we seek to offer quality meals, at a fair price, served with a smile. The Assistant Director position is a key part to ensure we meet or exceed our mission. The successful candidate will assist the Director of Food Services in the successful operation of the Food Services Department for Keene, Chesterfield, Harrisville, Marlborough, Marlow and Nelson School Districts, administering a school meals program of high nutritional value in accordance with federal and state guidelines. This position will also direct food services activities and personnel at multiple sites, ensuring they perform their functions in a nurturing, safe and efficient manner. All our programs seek to nurture students with nutritious and delicious food provided with friendly and caring service.
The successful candidate must have experience in the following:
- purchasing and preparing large quantities of food and a proficient understanding
of the mandated nutritional needs of students - ensuring availability of items required to meet daily needs
- providing written support to convey information?
- complying with mandated health standards
- organizing the procurement of all food and supplies, ensuring adherence to federal
and district purchasing requirements including the bidding process and pricing - researching new products and menu ideas
- prior experience with the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program
Duties will include overseeing the operations of the all kitchens including staffing, equipment maintenance, purchasing, related program paperwork, and ensuring all policies and procedures are followed. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and time management skills, computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google, problem solving capabilities, and the ability to work independently.
This is a full time (220 days) school year schedule with a full benefits package. Salary Range $49,000-$65,000 per year. Start date negotiable to allow for some training prior to the close of this school year. ServeSafe certification will be required within the first year of employment.
