ANNOUNCEMENT OF DIVISION SUPERINTENDENT POSITION
The Page County School Board is accepting applications for the position of Division Superintendent.
The Page County School Board is seeking a superintendent to lead the school division as it continues its pursuit of its mission: The vision of Page County Public Schools is to support and prepare all students to be healthy, well-rounded individuals and citizens.
The County:
Page County is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley between the Blue Ridge and Massanutten Mountains with the mighty Shenandoah River traversing through it. Page County Public Schools' central office as well as the county's government seat are located in the town of Luray; Page is also home to the towns of Shenandoah and Stanley. Page County, with a population of over 23,000, is located about 90 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. and about 120 miles to the west of Richmond. The Schools:
Division schools include two high schools (Luray High, Page County High), two middle schools (Luray Middle, Page County Middle), four elementary schools (Luray Elementary, Stanley Elementary, Springfield Elementary, Shenandoah Elementary), and one technical center (Page County Technical Center). The school division serves approximately 3,000 students in grades PreK-12, with over 550 full-time and part-time staff members. The division has an on-time graduation rate of 96.4%. Qualifications:

- Earned doctorate from an accredited university (preferred)
- Experience in a small or rural school system (preferred)
- Experience as a superintendent or central office administrator (preferred)
- Experience as a building level administrator (required)
- Experience as a classroom teacher is (required)
- Experience in Virginia (preferred)
- Experience in the areas of instruction, finance, school law, student achievement, school improvement, special education, capital improvement, and technology (preferred)

- Develops programs that will improve the educational achievements and growth of all students.
- Serves as a team player and motivates others positively, and delegates authority as necessary.
- Develops professional relationships with administrators, teachers, students, parents/guardians, and the public in order to promote educational opportunities and creating an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.
- Effectively maintains open channels of communication between the school board, county administration, Board of Supervisors, faculty, staff and the community, and can mediate and accommodate different perspectives. This includes being able to maintain open lines of communication, responding to concerns in a professional manner, and being a good listener and advocate.
- Is accessible to address concerns in a caring manner from all stakeholders and create an atmosphere of trust and understanding.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a clear vision of where the school division is heading.
- Ability to navigate policy, procedures and politics to advocate for the entire division and to secure funding from a variety of sources for instructional, human resources, and capital needs.
- The ability to lead with humility, empathy, fairness, honesty, integrity, transparency, trustworthiness, thoughtfulness and professionalism.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Evaluation
The superintendent undergoes an annual evaluation conducted by the Page County School Board.

Applications and all documents must be submitted online in PowerSchool School Spring site by Friday, April 4, 2025 by 5:00pm to the PowerSchool School Spring.
Application packets will be considered complete if they contain all of the following items:
- Transcripts from all universities attended (copies are acceptable; however, official transcripts are required before hiring).
- Copies of any applicable professional licenses or certificates.
- Responses from the essay questions.
- Current Resume.
- First 100 Day Entry Plan.
- Four (4) Letters of recommendation from current/past employers.
- One must be from your current immediate supervisor.

Interview Process:
The School Board will review all completed applications and select candidates to be interviewed. The first round of interviews with the School Board will start on Friday, April 11, 2025. The second round of interviews with stakeholders will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025. The final round of interviews with the School Board will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025. This is considered a confidential process.
Page County Public Schools is led by a six-member elected School Board. The Superintendent serves at the pleasure of the School Board and carries out the policies, procedures and directives established by the School Board. The Page County School Board has a chair who is elected by the constituents, and one board member representing each of the five districts in Page County.
