Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
- Prepare and cook meals according to the school’s menu plan.
- Follow established recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and nutritional standards.
- Assist with food ordering, inventory management, and stocking supplies.
- Ensure food items are stored at proper temperatures and conditions to maintain freshness and safety.
Serving Food:
- Serve meals to students, staff, and faculty in a fast, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Operate cash registers or meal card systems to process payments (if applicable).
- Maintain a clean and organized serving area.
Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Maintain cleanliness in the cafeteria, kitchen, and dining areas.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment regularly.
- Clean food preparation surfaces and follow safe food handling practices.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in the cafeteria.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and faculty.
- Address customer concerns or complaints with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Assist in the promotion of healthy food choices and menu items.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines as established by the school district and local health departments.
- Adhere to food handling and hygiene standards to prevent contamination.

Teamwork:
- Collaborate with other cafeteria staff to ensure efficient and smooth cafeteria operations.

- Assist with inventory counts and ordering of food supplies.
- Help with setting up and breaking down special events or functions within the school (e.g., catered school events, lunch specials).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nutrition Services, head supervisor or school administrator.
