Southlawn Elementary, A 27J School, is currently seeking a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) teacher to assist students in developing English skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening through the district's curriculum for CLD students. The ELD teacher collaborates with classroom teachers in ensuring best practices for CLD students are implemented throughout the school day. This is a full-time, or 1.0 FTE position with benefits. for this position.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Plans and organizes language development instruction consistent with the district curriculum.
- Utilizes WIDA framework and standards in the development of lesson plans.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including whole group/small-group or individual learning.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers in ensuring best practices for CLD learners are implemented throughout the school day.
- Administers required language proficiency (ACCESS) and academic achievement tests within the required time frame.
- Assures proper placement in ELD courses/groups according to district guidelines.
- Collaborates with district to collect and complete all required paperwork for the CLD student re-designation process and FEP Monitoring
- Remains current in all district CLD related communications.
- Attends IEP, 504 or other related meetings necessary for CLD students.
- Assists in collecting and analyzing data for increasing student achievement.
- Works towards building a positive self-image in CLD learners.
- Helps the school staff to be aware of and sensitive to cultural differences of CLD learners.
- Establishes and maintains communication with parents of CLD students.
- A valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License.
- Colorado Department of Education “In Field” by CDE endorsement or qualifications to teach the posted subject area.
- ESL or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education, (CLDE) Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education endorsement or Master’s degree in CLD.
- ELD teaching experience preferred.
