Middle School Teacher - 8th Grade ELA/SS

Quist Middle School is seeking a dedicated 8th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies Teacher to join our team. We are committed to fostering strong relationships, student ownership, and engagement in learning through structured and supportive classroom environments. This is a full-time, or 1.0 FTE position.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and standards-aligned instruction in ELA and Social Studies.
• Implement research-based instructional strategies that promote critical thinking, literacy, and historical analysis.
• Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages student participation and ownership of learning.
• Utilize data-driven instruction to support student growth and achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and align curriculum goals.
• Maintain effective communication with students, families, and staff.
• Uphold school and district policies to support a safe and structured learning environment.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• A valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License.
• Colorado Department of Education “In Field” by CDE endorsement or qualifications to teach the posted subject area.
• The ability to handle many complex tasks simultaneously.
• The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. (Having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)
• The ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).
• A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning.
