Position: Educational Interpreter (ASL) - Part-Time - (4) Hours Per Week
The Educational Interpreter will provide critical support for a student with hearing impairments, ensuring their full participation in the academic environment by facilitating communication between the student and instructional staff. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the student has equal access to educational opportunities by interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.
Education and experience
- Associate degree or certification in sign language interpreting
- Possession of a valid Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) report with a score of 3.5 or higher or valid certificate as a Sign Language Interpreter from the Registry of Interpreters for Deaf, Inc.
Certification: Department of Public Instruction Educational Interpreter License code 020 or 884, or equivalent
