The School District of Fort Atkinson is accepting applications for a part-time auditorium manager at the Fort Atkinson High School.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance and Upkeep
- Maintain all equipment and technology used in FAHS Theater. This is including, but not limited to: Sound, Lighting, Video, Scene Shop, House, Stage, and Consumables.
- Communicate specific facility needs and future capital expenditures with the Auditorium Manager - Administrative.
- Maintain technical specifications for the FAHS Theater.
Human/Public Relations
- Educate student workers on the functions of a Performing Arts Center (PAC).
- Train student workers on applicable lighting, sound, and video equipment operations.
- Serve as a positive adult role model during interactions with students.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships and lines of communication with all students, staff, and community PAC users.
- Utilize PAC event data to inform creation of best practices, annual goals, and promotion of PAC activities.
Event Needs
- Ensure a trained individual is present throughout events when the PAC is in use.
- Oversee or otherwise make arrangements for technical and personnel needs to be in order for each event held within PAC.
- Coordinate availability of video recording/live broadcasting of PAC events.
- Schedule front of house and technical staffing (as needed) for events in conjunction with Auditorium Manager - Administrative including but not limited to ushering, ticketing, house management, and equipment operation.
Safety
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety requirements.
- Communicate safety needs to the Auditorium Manager-Administrative related to preventative, on-going, and reactionary maintenance.
- Ensure user groups are properly trained prior to use of FAHS Theater Equipment.
Technology Use
- Provide training and services related to:
- ETC Lighting Control Software- EOS Family
- Concepts of Lighting Design
- Concepts of Sound Design
- Video Broadcast and Live Streaming
- Maintain PAC inventory in alignment with district asset tracking protocols.
Sustainability Planning
- Create and maintain training and/or user manual for all processes and equipment.
- Work with the Auditorium Manager-Administrative to develop and execute planning that continues to support the appropriate use and maintenance of the existing facility.
- Work with the Auditorium Administrative Manager to apply for grant opportunities that involve technical upgrades, learning opportunities, marketing efforts, or expanded programming.
Additional Responsibilities
- Adhere to district policies and procedures to ensure responsible management of district resources.
- Assume responsibility for individual professional growth and remain current in laws, regulations, and best practices of the position.
- Reports for work on a regular basis and is absent only for reasons of illness, emergency, or other approved leaves.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Communications Director, FAHS Principal, or Activities/Athletics Director.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals of all ages.
- Ability to teach and ensure understanding of safety rules and regulations among both students and non-students in the FAHS Theater.

- Max of 26 hours averaged per week per pay period - spent for prep and take down of events
- Familiarity or willingness to learn:

- Concepts of Sound Design
- Video Broadcast and Live Streaming
- Working knowledge of stage management and/or production management
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work within tight deadlines and budgets. Must have outstanding interpersonal skills with staff, students, and public.
- Work in confined spaces, at heights of 30 feet or more, on ladders, and lift objects at least 50lbs.
