Description
The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 40 hours per week, 12 months per year Administrative Assistant to the High School Principal at Central High School. Projected start date: January 13, 2025
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:
To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Greet and assist visitors, students, parents, and staff in need of information.
2. Perform daily office routines and practices associated with a complex, busy, student-centered office.
3. Perform computer tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel, Skyward financial and student management, general office equipment, and electronic communication.
4. Schedule service for office equipment as needed.
5. Maintain storeroom/workroom, including processing daily mail, monitoring inventory and processing supply orders as needed.
6. Maintain staff paperwork at the building level (i.e., personnel forms/files, emergency cards, labor reports, phone directory).
7. Other duties as assigned by the building Principal/Associate Principal/Dean of Students.
8. Assist with budget management, purchasing, etc.
9. Assist with organization of graduation.
10. Assist with organization of Hall of Excellence selection and ceremony.
11. Prepare and distribute school newsletter or other building communications as directed.
12. Update and maintain school website and/or internal message televisions.
13. Update, maintain, and prepare various handbooks (Student/Parent, Staff, Crisis, and Safety) for printing and distribution.
14. Utilize Skylert system for contacting families regarding important school information.
15. Assist in preparation of the yearly building budget and maintain appropriate financial records and reconciliation. Maintain and monitor deposits and expenditures associated with the building (i.e., donations and grants).
16. Maintain and monitor outside accounts such as La Crosse Public Education Foundation sponsored funds and Random Acts of Kindness.
17. Process purchase orders, check requests, invoices, and procurement card transactions.
18. Contact vendors and obtain information about new vendors.
19. Responsible for all purchasing and supply inventory for school.
20. Submit field trip bus requests and coordinate deposit and payment with vendors.
21. Organize 8th Grade Orientation/Curriculum Fair.
22. Organize Memorial Day Program.
23. Maintain data directory for all high school students.
24. Work alongside National Honor Society Advisor organizing materials.
25. Update and organize yearly safety information binders.
26. Summer backup tasks as assigned (i.e., work permits and education verifications).
