Description

The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Inclusion/Intervention Specialist at Central High School beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Projected start date: August 12, 2025

Reading Teacher License 1316 required.

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES: To plan, organize, and program reading and math interventions within the school.

POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:

Salary: Set annually by the Board of Education/Superintendent

Length of Contract: Teacher Contract 189 Days

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Principal

Coordinates with: School Psych and Student Services

Supervises: Students

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required experience and training:
  • 316 Reading Teacher License
  • Desired experience and training:
  • Work with IEPs and 504s
  • Work with co-plan, co-serve, co-teach
  • Knowledge of special education referral process
  • Special requirements for the position:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with Special Ed and Regular Ed teaching staff

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Restructure resource periods within students’ IEPs
  • Train teachers on best practices regarding reading interventions
  • Train and mentor educators in the co-serve, co-teach, co-plan model
  • Work with special education and non-special education students on reading interventions
  • Plan, organize, and deliver reading and math interventions for special education referrals
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal
