The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Inclusion/Intervention Specialist at Central High School beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Projected start date: August 12, 2025
Reading Teacher License 1316 required.
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES: To plan, organize, and program reading and math interventions within the school.
POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:
Salary: Set annually by the Board of Education/Superintendent
Length of Contract: Teacher Contract 189 Days
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Principal
Coordinates with: School Psych and Student Services
Supervises: Students
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required experience and training:
- 316 Reading Teacher License
- Desired experience and training:
- Work with IEPs and 504s
- Work with co-plan, co-serve, co-teach
- Knowledge of special education referral process
- Special requirements for the position:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with Special Ed and Regular Ed teaching staff
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Restructure resource periods within students’ IEPs
- Train teachers on best practices regarding reading interventions
- Train and mentor educators in the co-serve, co-teach, co-plan model
- Work with special education and non-special education students on reading interventions
- Plan, organize, and deliver reading and math interventions for special education referrals
- Other duties as assigned by the principal
