JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB GOAL:
To support the provision of a free and appropriate public education for students with disabilities by providing developmental assessments and screenings as part of the initial identification process and for progress monitoring. This includes networking with staff from community agencies and schools (public and private), providing training on screening and assessment instruments, and coordination of a program to complete screenings/assessments for ESE PreK students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience working with preschool children and children with disabilities
- Valid driver’s license
- Spanish bilingual preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of disabling conditions, community resources and services for preschool children (with and without disabilities), and developmental assessment. Ability to establish rapport with children, parents, and school/community agency staff and to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Supervisor of Student Services
SUPERVISES:

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete intake/case management for referrals from outside agencies.
- Complete developmental screenings/assessments on preschool children referred to the Evaluation Center.
- Write summary reports on findings.
- Provide training to staff on the administration, scoring and interpretation of developmental screening and assessment measures.
- Coordinate the completion of developmental screenings/assessments for students receiving preschool ESE services.
- Participate on a multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in community screenings for children with developmental delays.
- Collaborate with community agencies.
- Assist families in obtaining appropriate services.
- Provide parent education.
- Complete all required reports and enter required data.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
