State Title: Information Specialist, Administrative Technology
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB GOAL:
Provides Level 1 & 2 site-based support of schools and departments in the installation, maintenance, training, troubleshooting, and support of computers, endpoint devices, applications and associated technology equipment to ensure optimal performance and support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree in Computer Science or Technical College Degree from an accredited educational institution preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years successful experience in supporting enterprise applications and technology systems and peripherals.
- CompTia A Core Series Certification or other equivalent industry standard certification. .
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License or will obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Life experience, industry knowledge, training, certification and other education may be considered as a replacement for minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Basic knowledge of the implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products supporting a K-12 environment. Logical and efficient. Strong customer service orientation. Ability to communicate ideas in user-friendly language. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a K-12 environment. Ability to make presentations to a variety of audiences. Knowledge of Federal, State, and District rules, regulations, and policies as they relate to job functions. Possess skills in project management with the ability to schedule time, prioritize, and work efficiently and effectively. Ability to handle multiple tasks in stressful situations with ease and efficiency. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, general public and vendors. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.

Senior Field Support Engineer
Assigned Administrator
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide IT Level 1 and 2 user support with computer system hardware, software, associated peripherals and network connectivity.
- Receive direction from Senior Field Support Engineer on daily prioritization of job assignments and projects.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve computer and network issues in a timely fashion.
- Document, escalate, and route service tickets to ensure world class customer service
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve printing, interactive technology and projection issues in a timely fashion.
- Ability to train on computer hardware and software, projection devices, enterprise printing and other assigned technology projects and integrations.
- Image and prepare computers and other devices for the site.
- Use a variety of troubleshooting techniques on all site technology.
- Maintain all site technology for up to date and optimized performance.
- Maintain knowledge of multiple computer Operating Systems and software applications.
- Ability to adapt and stay current with changing technology, both in hardware and software.
- Maintain computer systems for optimal performance.
- Self-prioritization of multiple open work orders for optimal user response time.
- Work continuously on an open issue until completed or referral to senior management.
- Provide customer support via phone, email, Work Order system as well as in person.
- Ensure adherence to good safety standards.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
- Exhibit interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member.
- Model and maintain high ethical standards.
- Represent the district in a positive and professional manner.
- Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with staff, administration and vendors.
- Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
- Follow federal and state laws as well as school board policies, rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate support for the school district and its goals and objectives.
- Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records.
- Maintain expertise in assigned area to fulfill project goals and objectives.
- Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment.
- Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
- If necessary, liaise with third-party support and equipment vendors.
- As technology systems evolve duties, responsibilities, and activities may change and new ones may be assigned at any time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
