Cleaner

The School District of South Milwaukee is looking for reliable individuals who want to provide a clean, safe, learning environment for students and staff. This dynamic individual will be part of a dedicated  team but can also  work independently in a school setting. Individuals will perform cleaning tasks necessary to assure that the building is in a condition consistent with the District standards of cleanliness and safety. The basic workweek of a Cleaner - District Floater consists of  7.0 hour days, Monday through Friday, 2 : 15pm-9 : 45pm. This is a  12 month position. Rate of pay for this position is $15.50 / hour.

SPECIAL ​ ​ QUALIFICATIONS ​ ​ OF ​ ​ THE ​ ​ POSITION :

• Required ​ ​ Experience ​ ​ or ​ ​ Training : ​ ​Must be a high school graduate or equivalent training.
• Desired ​ ​ Experience ​ ​ or ​ ​ Training : ​ ​ ​Work experience with custodial cleaning practices and products.
• Knowledge, ​ Skills, ​ ​ and ​ ​ Abilities : ​ Physical fitness and mental ability to perform assigned work. Ability to work well with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize work while following verbal and written directives.
• Language ​ ​ Skills : ​ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Job Responsibilities : Perform structured and non-structured cleaning of classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and other school areas. Participate in summer cleaning of the entire building. Assist with event setups and teardowns. As a floater individual will be based at 6-12 campus but will travel to elementary schools as needed to cover open shifts. Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
