What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cleaner position at School District of South Milwaukee?
The School District of South Milwaukee is looking for reliable individuals who want to provide a clean, safe, learning environment for students and staff. This dynamic individual will be part of a dedicated team but can also work independently in a school setting. Individuals will perform cleaning tasks necessary to assure that the building is in a condition consistent with the District standards of cleanliness and safety. The basic workweek of a Cleaner - District Floater consists of 7.0 hour days, Monday through Friday, 2 : 15pm-9 : 45pm. This is a 12 month position. Rate of pay for this position is $15.50 / hour.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION :
- Required Experience or Training : Must be a high school graduate or equivalent training.
- Desired Experience or Training : Work experience with custodial cleaning practices and products.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Physical fitness and mental ability to perform assigned work. Ability to work well with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize work while following verbal and written directives.
- Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Job Responsibilities : Perform structured and non-structured cleaning of classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and other school areas. Participate in summer cleaning of the entire building. Assist with event setups and teardowns. As a floater individual will be based at 6-12 campus but will travel to elementary schools as needed to cover open shifts. Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
