Assistant Coach for Spring Track

Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced assistant coach to join our Spring Track team at Chatham High School. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to provide guidance and support to student-athletes during practices and competitions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices that focus on skill development, conditioning, and team building
• Work with individual athletes to identify areas of improvement and provide feedback and guidance
• Attend all meets and provide support to athletes during competitions
• Help manage team logistics, including equipment, uniforms, and transportation
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, respect, and hard work
• Communicate regularly with the head coach, athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team updates, schedules, and any issues that arise
  
  

Requirements

• NJ Teaching Credential OR NJ Substitute Credential
• Previous coaching experience, preferably in track and field
• Knowledge of track and field rules, techniques, and training methods
• Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other assistant coaches
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with athletes, parents, and school staff
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during the track season
• A commitment to promoting a positive and safe environment for student-athletes
