Summary
The Assistant Coordinator of Student Behavior Interventions and Supports (ACSBIS) directly supports the Coordinator of Behavior Services in developing, organizing, networking, implementing, and evaluating a highly effective system of positive behavior interventions and supports for all students, primarily in the residential / student life environment of SAIL.
This position requires many cooperative meetings with the clinical team to discuss anecdotal rounds, psych rounds, and various organizational / cooperative meetings regarding the individuals' needs. Working as a team, leveraging sound understandings of the principles of effective behavior supports and interventions, and utilizing best communication practices are foundational aspects of this role.
Competencies
A qualified Assistant Coordinator of Student Behavior Intervention Services will be highly competent in the areas of Teaching & Learning, Operant Conditioning, Verbal Behavior, and Applied Behavior Analysis. The ACSBIS should use all learned behavior skills to lead many teams and cooperatively work with / train a large number of employees with varying levels of behavior skills.

Qualifications
The Assistant CSBIS should be experienced and knowledgeable in key aspects of helping students develop improved skills in self-management, socialization, flexibility & responsiveness, and personal fulfillment in life. The ACBIS should have a sound understanding of such core SAIL systems as PBIS, the D3-BEST core program, transition-case planning, the school curriculum model, systems of student-centered planning, and best practices in helping staff to improve teaching & learning experiences for every student. The qualified ACBIS should be an experienced integrated member of a multi-disciplinary team with a demonstrated track record of effective, inclusive, outcome-driven, and person-centered planning and implementation.
Education
one (1) year of experience working with children / adolescents with a variety of psychiatric and / or behavioral disorders including developing functional behavioral assessments, behavior improvement plans and positive behavioral supports
OR one (1) year of full-time paid work experience working with students in providing behavior management and / or counseling with BCBA certification
