Math Specialist
Position Overview
The Math Specialist is a subject matter expert dedicated to enhancing mathematics instruction, curriculum development, and student achievement. This role involves collaborating with teachers, administrators, and students to implement effective instructional strategies, support professional development, and improve student outcomes. The Math Specialist serves as a consultant, coach, and facilitator to strengthen math education across the school.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development & Instruction
- Assess and evaluate mathematics curricula and instructional strategies.
- Develop and implement school-wide math plans, including curriculum alignment and standardized testing.
- Identify and introduce best practices in math instruction.
Teacher Support & Professional Development
- Provide professional development on math content, pedagogy, and instructional strategies.
- Coach and mentor teachers through co-planning, co-teaching, and instructional modeling.
- Lead professional learning communities focused on mathematics education.
Student Support & Intervention
- Identify students’ strengths and areas for growth in mathematics.
- Develop and implement targeted interventions for students struggling with math.
- Design and support advanced and remedial math instruction programs.
Data Analysis & Program Evaluation
- Analyze student performance data to guide instructional decisions and interventions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of math programs and initiatives, making recommendations for improvement.
Collaboration & Resource Management
- Serve as a resource for teachers and administrators on best practices in math instruction.
- Organize, manage, and distribute math curriculum materials.
- Work with school leadership, teachers, and stakeholders to enhance math education outcomes.

Qualifications

- Certification: A valid teaching certificate/license in mathematics is preferred but not required.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of teaching experience is preferred
