Key Responsibilities:

Deliver personalized student-centered medical care throughout the school day, including during classroom time, transitions, and special activities.
- Ride the bus with the student to and from school, monitoring their health and providing necessary care during transportation.
- Support the students daily living needs, including but not limited to feeding, diapering, dressing, toileting, lifting, and positioning in alignment with their care plan.
- Administer prescribed medications and medical treatments according to physician orders and school protocols.
- Monitor and document the students health status, behaviors, and any medical interventions, keeping accurate, up-to-date records.
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff to support the students learning and participation in school activities.
- Assist with gross motor activities, including adaptive physical education or therapy sessions, ensuring student safety and comfort.
- While performing the duties under this contract, you will be required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations and walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (carry, lift, move) students ages 321 as needed.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and update school administration on health policies.
Qualifications:
- Current nursing license (LPN/LVN) in Maryland.
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a school-based team setting.
- Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing school health policies and student needs.
